Wedding Photography Pricing FAQs

How do you calculate wedding photography costs?

Wedding photography prices and packages are designed to provide every couple with options that fit their personal preferences and set budget. Pricing is based on a number of factors, including the services provided and the time dedicated to capturing your special day and editing every photo to perfection.

What's included in my wedding photography services?

When comparing the average wedding photographer cost, it's helpful to fully understand the services offered. At First & Port Photography, services depend on the package you choose. All of our pre-set packages include the ceremony, family formals, wedding party portraits, and couple portraits. Every package except the Rose Gold Collection could also include getting ready, cocktail hour and reception photos depending on whether or not that items were built into the timeline.

Silver, Gold, and Platinum Collections include a 30-minute engagement session, and the Platinum Collection also consists of two hours of rehearsal coverage.

Remember that you can also add videography packages and à la carte services like an additional hour of photography coverage and a video of your full ceremony.

How do I choose a wedding photography package?

Choosing a package isn't only about wedding photography prices, although that's certainly an essential consideration for many couples. First, you need to fully understand the services offered to choose the coverage that best meets your needs and expectations for your big day.

When it comes to the photos that will commemorate this significant milestone in your life, you should also take a moment to consider what you might regret not capturing after the fact. Some couples may care more about the reception than rehearsal dinner coverage, for example, while others might want to capture every special moment with their loved ones.

Your event is unique, and our services are designed to ensure you get exactly what you want from your wedding day coverage–and nothing less.

Should I splurge on a wedding photographer?

Your wedding lasts only one day, but the photos will last a lifetime. This is why so many couples choose to go beyond the average wedding photographer's cost and splurge on photography and videography services.

The images detailing every beautiful moment will grace your walls for years to come. You can gift them to family and friends, which may be passed down to your children, grandchildren, etc. In other words, when you splurge on enduring images of your special day, you can always get your money's worth.

Who pays for the photographer at the wedding?

Traditionally, a bride's family covers wedding expenses, but many couples these days opt to pay for the wedding on their own. This gives them complete control over vendors and the overall scope of the event. Still, plenty of parents enjoy financially supporting young couples, so it's common for family members to pitch in on photography or other services.
